J.P. Hostetler (Jake) is originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in the United States. He writes for both children and adults about leaving the comfort zone and the vital importance of diversity: of culture, of peoples, and of thought.

His debut children's book, The Sky Belongs to the Dreamers, received a Mom's Choice Gold Award in 2019 and his subsequent Young Adult series, Around Curiosity's Edge, won the Reader's Favorite Book Award for best in Mythology & Fairytale in 2021.

After time spent living in Germany, South Korea, and India, Jake currently resides outside of Los Angeles, California where he splits his time between writing and working at a biotechnology startup.
